Peter Gleason is Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer for the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the only national association devoted exclusively to serving the information and educational needs of corporate directors.  Mr. Gleason also serves as Treasurer for the NACD Board of Directors and as Chief Operating Officer of NACD’s Center for Board Leadership.  The Center engages in substantive research projects focused primarily on helping establish and refine leading practices to enhance board performance.

Mr. Gleason is a member of NACD’s national faculty and is a frequent presenter on the subjects of corporate governance, executive and director compensation, risk, strategic planning, board process and board evaluation.  He is currently the host of NACD BoardVision, has appeared on CNBC’s SquawkBox and PowerLunch, Reuters TV, NPR’s Marketplace, and is regularly quoted in the national media.  He oversees all of NACD’s Blue Ribbon Commission Reports, and has served as a Commissioner on each report issued over the past 11 years, including the most recent releases onThe Effective Lead Director, Performance Metrics, Audit Committees, and Risk Governance.  Mr. Gleason is currently a member of the Business Advisory Board of Nura Life Sciences, LLC, a privately-held, development-stage health care company and is a past director of The Patriot Fund.  He actively serves as a council member of the International Professional Practices Framework Oversight Council of the Institute of Internal Auditors and was also a member of the Executive Advisory Panel for the Open Compliance & Ethics Group (OCEG).

Before joining NACD, Mr. Gleason was a management consultant with both Ernst & Young and with Pritchett & Associates.  In addition, Mr. Gleason spent eight years in the Research Department at Institutional Shareholder Services including service as Vice President and Director of U.S. Research.

Mr. Gleason is a graduate of Dartmouth College, has an MBA with concentrations in both Finance and Marketing from Virginia Tech, and is an NACD Governance Fellow.
