Shami is an Assistant Director of PwC’s Sustainability and Climate Change team in the UK, specialising in sustainability work in the private equity and financial services sector.

Shami joined PwC in 2005 and has over 11 years experience in responsible investment (RI) and sustainable finance. Whilst at PwC, Shami has worked exclusively in the financial services arena, with a wide variety of major clients in the private equity, banking and insurance sub-sectors. Shami has extensive experience of developing strategy, policy and procedures for implementing ESG/ sustainability programmes. She has also

developed and delivered multiple training engagements on this subject. Shami’s work with PE houses has included RI policy and procedures development, and engaging with Board members and senior management teams of portfolio companies to identify ESG risks and opportunities.

Shami recently led a PwC survey of the global PE industry on responsible investment – the findings are contained in the report  Responsible investment: creating value from environmental, social and governance issues which is available to download from www.pwc.co.uk/sustainability
