Mark-Oliver Baumgarten is partner of Staiger, Schwald & Partner and head of the banking, finance and capital markets team. He regularly advises companies, financial institutions and individuals on banking, finance and capital markets law, including collective investment schemes law. He studied law at the University of California, Berkeley (Boat Hall) (1990) and the University of Basel (first degree 1992, doctorate 1995) and obtained a Master of Laws from the University of Pennsylvania law School (1998). He is an authorised representative of issuers at the SIX Swiss Exchange and a member of the Swiss Funds Association's expert committee on products and operations. He is a member of the Zurich and Swiss Bars. He regularly publishes on Swiss financial law matters and is co-author of commentaries on the Swiss merger act and on the Swiss stock exchange act.
