Gaye Spolitis graduated from Izmir American Collegiate Institute and studied law at Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Law.   She completed her LL.M degree in International Law at London School of Economics as British Council’s Chevening Scholar.   Following her LL.M degree, she studied her M.Phil degree in International Studies at University of Cambridge (member of Trinity College) as a Cambridge Overseas Trust fellow.   Upon return to Turkey, she worked in General Directorate of EU Affairs in the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a diplomat and later assigned to the Turkish Embassy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Ms. Spolitis works in the Corporate Affairs Department of Erdem & Erdem Istanbul Office as a Legal Counsel advising foreign and local corporate clients with particular focus on international business transactions, M&As, public offerings, joint ventures and shareholders agreements, private equity investments and legal structuring, commercial contracts, corporate governance, PPPs and privatizations and energy projects.  She is currently attending a fellowship programme coordinated by Chartered Institute of Arbitrators European Branch and supports clients in arbitration matters from time to time.

Prior joining Erdem&Erdem, she worked at Turkey’s leading industrial conglomerates Zorlu Holding A.?. Energy Group and later at Hac? Ömer Sabanc? Holding A.?., as a Corporate Legal Counsel.  She took leading role in advising and coordinating all aspects of cross-border and local strategic business transactions and partnerships in energy, retail (including e-commerce), cement, industry and insurance (life and non-life) sectors, PPPs and privatizations.  She also worked in the development of corporate compliance processes.

Between 2012-2013, Gaye Spolitis served as a director at the Board of Directors of CarrefourSA Carrefour Sabanc? Ticaret Merkezi A.?., public international joint venture operating in organized food retail and shopping mall management.
