Best career moment: I really do have many highlights, including the successful ruling by the House of Lords which brought a £50 million SFO case to an abrupt halt vindicating my client, but the best was proving that a professional client of good character was innocent of trying to poison her mother. The client had been charged but we proved to the prosecution’s satisfaction that there was never any poison! The elderly lady had a reaction to prescribed medicine. This truly was ‘the crime that never was’. (For the record her mother had always maintained her daughter was innocent).
