With over 30 years’ experience, he represents clients across the full spectrum of maritime issues, including finance, charters, insurance, regulation, vessel arrest and casualties. Peer-reviewed as a Top Rated Lawyer in Transportation (AV) by Martindale-Hubbell and ALM, and by Best Lawyers in America in both Admiralty & Maritime Law and Commercial Litigation, Mr. Chapman is past chairman of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, a proctor of the MLA (U.S.), and a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference. He is a sought-after lecturer on topics of interest to the maritime industry and teaches at Regent University School of Law as an Adjunct Professor.
